Caste system and danger to society

Class and role played in the government is something that is important to urban societies. People who have a big role in society can actually contain some sort of hierarchy over the people. In Witsoe’s Story he presents a government that follows a caste system and how it affects India. He writes how when he was staying in Patna there was attacks towards civilian in a gated community. Witsoe also explains how the caste system plays a big role in the government. He also explains how even with lower-caste system is being represented but the people that do represent still have a part of hierarchy. Caste system is really important especially in the role of the government no matter if it’s higher and or lower.

There is trouble in Patna where a lot of people are being hurt or killed near their homes. It is believed that there are connections such as kidnappings and other which lead Patna to become a horrific place to live. It is all based on a caste system in the government. The mafia got into the government, how they got into the government is probably due to the fact that they want to maintain power and a lot of people that see the mafia as people that can get the job done. Witsoe explained how the mafia politicians make clear; criminality in Bihar is connected not only with politics but also with caste (Gmelch p. 272). With the Mafia taking over the political system there are a lot of criminal activities that takes over and no one can really do anything about it.

Its not like democracy don’t play a role, cause the people has actually been heard but by lower caste system. In Northern India there is a change one, which the High caste system is not the only one in charge. People such as Lalu represent the lower caste system, he went to remote places that other in the political world never went before (Gmelch p. 275). Witsoe explains how the lower caste system represents, but there was also the problem that their status is high and they tend to show cases of hierarchy.

I think its two different situation and how the one caste system that wants control and since they are the meanest in society everyone tends give them their votes. I believed that lower caste system is helpful so the people their voices out there but there is no different from the high caste system since they also want to show some short of hierarchal power. Lower Caste system is better because the people can at least count on the political power and not afraid to express their thoughts.
